1. Click the download button below and install the module in the usual manner, by logging into your Joomla site's administration panel and navigating to extensions > extension manager > install.
2. After receipt of the message 'Installing module was successful', go to extensions > module manager and publish the Cookie Control by Civic module in an active position on your template.
Please note, that the actual positioning of the cookie control widget is handled by the options set in the module parameters.
3. Ensure that you have set your API Key and License in the module options, as this contains crucial information for enabling cookie control v6 on your site.
4. Click save, and you're all done. Good job!
API Key Error
Your API key relates to a specific host domain. So http://www.mydomain.org might work, but mydomain.org (without the www) might not. Be sure that you enter the correct host domain when registering for your API key.
The recommended way of avoiding this problem is to create a 301 redirect so all requests to mydomain.org get forwarded to http://www.mydomain.org This may have SEO benefits too as it makes it very clear to search engines which is the canonical (one true) domain.
Is installing and configuring the plugin enough for compliance?
I'm getting an error message / Cookie Control isn't working?
Support for Cookie Control is available via the forum: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/cookiecontrol
There is also a module for Joomla 2.5.
