Today it's World IPv6 Launch Day. ISPs and technology providers have been working away to enable their products and services with new IPv6 technology.
IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) is a version of the Internet Protocol (IP) intended to succeed IPv4, which is the communications protocol currently used to direct almost all Internet traffic. IPv6 will allow the Internet to support many more devices by greatly increasing the number of possible addresses. (Wikipedia)
At CIVIC we enabled IPv6 on our hosting infrastructure some time ago. Which means there's no danger of running out of IP addresses, for at least a few hundred years.
